Successfully, it seems! In all seriousness, the whole crew learned a lot in this great conversation with David Kruidhof from Comet about how #smt only increases reliance on x-ray as size of components decreases. While the conversation flows and the group has fun as usual, this episode is more question and answer as David shares his impressive knowledge.
Don't bow out early, or you'll miss David's great summary of how different commonly used metals and materials show up in x-rays and how miniaturization is even impacting the creators of advanced imaging systems.

Note: This podcast is not about fish. Don't worry though, much of the first 10 minutes is! Turns out, the D-Code cast also has experience with caring for tropical fish. Or in Daniel's case, you show off how close you live to a truly amazing place, the Omaha Zoo.
We promise, there is EMS-related discussion as well. From how to recognize 30 year old datasheets that may or may not describe modern best practices to the value of creating your own product for additional revenue streams, Jordan shares his excitement for this industry and the many ways he keeps planning ahead.

Even keeping things brief, The D-Code can't resist ribbing each other and waxing sarcastic. In this short but sweet episode, join Daniel Stanphill, Elias Malfavon, and Sean Kincaid for a quick announcement regarding SMTAI attendance.

The D-Code Podcast welcomes Caleb Chenoweth for what proved to be a bit of an "Operator's Special"
Don't get us wrong - there are a lot of topics up for discussion in Rev 1.9. But if you are an operator or heavily process oriented, this episode is especially for you. Starting off with a conversation about Caleb's education and avenue he has taken to get to his current vocation, he also shares insight on continuous improvement, management, taking ownership of errors or problems, and the importance of finding process improvements out of potentially negative situations.
What a discussion! Take a look at the tags to see what comes up and know that there is plenty more covered this week.

The D-Code is thrilled to be joined by Petr Dvorak, most known on LinkedIn for his famous Red Headphones. (Sean regularly says Orange. Debate in the comments!) Petr firmly denies any sort of "celebrity status", but he'll admit the headphones are good for branding. ;)
Discussions range from why it is important to share mistakes publicly, what it means to be "Extremely Polish", a bit of education on European history, creating a working hardware prototype from first concept through each design phase, and of course, KiCAD. If you don't understand why someone professional would choose to use a free open-source product for a knowledge deep dive, listen to this one. Petr lays it out clearly, and we can confirm he is a consummate professional!

Join The D-Code (Daniel Stanphill, Elias Malfavon Jr., and Sean Kincaid) in discussion with TheConveyorCougar herself, Cathy Rinne of Flex-Line Automation, as she weighs in on what a long career actually provides in terms of industry knowledge. As Cathy says, "40 years experience really seems like a lot, right? But I can tell you guys it's like the majority of stuff is obsolete. It's not, it's not really 40 years of experience that matters. It's, it's really what's the last 40 days, what's the last 40 weeks? Because technology is changing that quickly..."Cathy also shares about the following and much more:Owning a business while living on a farm"Spiciness" in Cows - dairy vs beefWork/life balanceWorking with family and maintaining personal relationshipSocial media for business & being AuthenticNewest advances in AI - especially AI in RoboticsEnticing younger generations to Production Job MarketThe value of personal customer service - charter a jet to Nebraska much?!Special callouts that came up in conversation include: @AutomationLadies   @DrewCrowe_MFG  What a fun conversation we had.
